The Lighter Association is a non-profit trade association formed by the U.S. lighter industry in 1986. The Association represents the industry's interests before federal and state regulatory bodies and the U.S. Congress. It is also integrally involved with domestic, foreign and international standards involving lighters. The Association also partners with other non-profit and charitable organizations to produce public service announcements, news articles and other media promoting the safe usage of lighters.
